37 Years of Dunhuang Postal Art, Gathered in One Album
This officially authorized album brings together every landmark Dunhuang stamp China Post has ever issued — a single collectible book that spans 37 years. Inside are both Mogao Caves releases: the 2020 Mogao Caves (2020-14) and the 2024 Mogao Caves II (2024-16), each with its souvenir sheet, plus the rare double-connected souvenir sheet (双连张) special format. It also assembles all six groups of the Dunhuang Murals series issued from 1987 to 1996 (T.116, T.126, T.150, 1992-11, 1994-8, 1996-20) — 24 stamps and 3 souvenir sheets tracing Northern Liang, Wei, Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, Song, Xixia and Yuan dynasty art. From the meditating Buddha of the Northern Wei to the serene Sakyamuni of the High Tang, the flying apsaras with flowing ribbons, and the painted faces of the murals, each stamp is a miniature of a cave itself.
