Xu Hui, the fourth-generation inheritor of cotton wool painting, after 36 years of continuous research, based on the inheritance of traditional cotton wool painting techniques, he has innovated techniques such as bone thread technique, buried thread technique, and tearing velvet technique, and innovated aesthetic yarn shadow cotton wool painting.

Representative works  

Bamboo Hut, “The Beauty of China in the Twenty-four Solar Terms”.

Among them, the yarn shadow cotton wool painting work ‘Spring’ won the best design award in the small objects category of the China International Quilting Invitational Competition in 2016.

Golden Autumn and “Summer Lotus Pond” won the gold medal of the 8th and 9th China (Shanxi) National Folk Arts and Crafts Fair.

In 2021, he was invited to participate in the Mid-Autumn Special Programme of ‘Watching the National Games, Tasting Sanqin’ on CCTV5.

In 2024, he participated in recording and broadcasting the second season of the CCTV documentary film Windy Things.
